This is not a generic design case study, but take this as a story of what I did and the experiences of what I built.

What is UnlockLife -&nbsp;A startup exclusively for senior citizens two of our main offerings are

 1. Assistance services to seniors- being their digital child

2. A Premium club for seniors - We do online and offline events for seniors above 55+ for their well being and happiness

Problem statement - It all started when we Introduced some fun quizzes and games during our online events using 100ms video calling toolAfter a few session we saw some recurring Pain Points that seniors were facing and also our host were finding it difficult to manage the session with chaos of 50+ seniors

I started by having a conversation with hosts and speakers who had run previous quiz and Tambola sessions. Their biggest pain points?

1. Users missed questions because they were dumped all at once

2. Hosts couldn’t tell who had answered the quiz

3. There was no intuitive leaderboard or winner reveal experience and they had to manage the winning on excel sheet which was very difficult to do during live run time of event with 50+ participants.

4. We were using normal Tambola boards but seniors joining late would ask which dividends are done and it would create chaos for other participants also they wanted to know last 5 numbers as well

5. From the host end because this was a paid event we wanted to have a check system for ticket validations when someone claimed price and currently we were asking them to send photo of ticket on whatsapp.

6. 100ms didn’t had the option to have two different games in one session? plus no option to add any images or video for making the quiz fun visually

We realized this wasn’t just about “fun.” This needed a proper real-time event control system, focused on clarity, flow, and reliability.

for the guests answer was clear we will be implemneting 100ms sdk in our UnlockLife app as that is where they used to register for events also so joining would become easy rather opening on browser. 

and for the speakers and host after discussing with engineers we thought we will make admin panel.

Instead of sending all questions upfront, we built a “one-by-one release” functionality in the admin panel. Hosts can now release questions manually, and each question appears individually on users’ screens, with tracking tied to responses.

✅ 2. Pre-seeded Questions (before event starts)

We removed dependency on live calls for question input. Admins can pre-seed all quiz content and trigger each question live, maintaining spontaneity and control.

✅ 3. Real-time Answer Tracking for Host

After every question, the host can now see how many participants have submitted responses — ensuring the quiz progresses only when everyone has had a chance to answer.

✅ 4. Presentation mode and Leaderboard Integration

Post-quiz, a sleek leaderboard automatically displays top scorers based on time and accuracy no more manual tallying. We added admin options to preview or auto-display results.

I created a functional digital Tambola board with:

Dividends and ticket view for every player

Real-time ticket sync with the participants

✅ 6. Audio Notification on Hand Raise (Desktop)

Like Google Meet, we added an audio pop-up on hand raise, making it easy for hosts to catch participant activity without staring at the screen.

Streamlining Quiz Management and Live Video Experiences

Started my Design journey as Visual Designer for 2+ years working for brands like IIFA Awards, Tata steel, Nasher Miles, Taj Hotel Niyaaz Biryani, Regal shoes, Northern Arc etc

Design a landing page for a mobile app that helps busy parents discover quick and healthy recipes. The design should highlight key
features that would attract and engage this specific audience.

I conducted a quick online survey with 15 parents who are workingand obtained some great insights from it, based on which I came up with a solution.

After conducting survey and insights, I started creating some personas for theusers who would be visiting this landing page and downloading the app.I segmented the users into two categories Single parent and couples

Then, I did some research on existing apps who provide similar services. thishelped me a lot in deciding my basic flow and must have features.

After all the research it was Important to see check for some Inspiration formy landing page and deciding the tone of the website

I started to roughly lay-out all the information that needed to be shown onthe page. The idea was to lay out all the information clearly according topriority so that the target audience can understand.

During wire-framing, I attempt to give some visual structure to the information,so I tried a lot of different layouts

Generally with food and healthy food habits Green color is associated so I decidedto have Dark green as my primary color and to match the theme with some vibrantcolor tried pink as it ads good contrast value

For font, I tried 4-5 font pair options on  fontpair.co and then finalized on these two.

Good Food aims to help busy parents discover quick and healthy recipes. I designed this logo and chose the brand name with the purpose of showcasing different recipes, and the name itself was intended to build trust among the audience for the brand.

Before making the landing page it was Important to decide the features and design of the app based on my research and I made some high fidelity design of the app screens

*Note- As I had a deadline of 2 days for this assignment I decided to directly makehigh-fidelity screens of the app

Let’s Talk about landing page design from a user perspective

Make the user aware of the objectives, by having clear and attention -grabbing elements.

In this section I wanted the user to be interested in the benefits of the product, and how it is right for them. so I have explained each features of the app so that user knows what all is in the store with Images of the app screen eventually building trust

Before prompting the user to download the app I have added a section showingdifferent categories of recipes which they can view only few on landing page for rest they have to download the app.

With this I moved the user’s sentiment towards liking the app with some more features, highlighting the pain points so that they are more Interested in downloading the app

This will now boost the user’s confidence to take action if they are still unsure about Downloading the app

In the end once the user has seen all the features, testimonials, benefits a promptfor the user to Download the app

1. My perspective on digital products has changed significantly after learning about design decisions and the reasoning behind them. I can now see the details on websites that I never noticed before.

2. The design process is not straightforward and depends on the context. There is no fixed framework that should be followed, but rather a mix of common sense and      an understanding of context.

3. Gathering all the necessary content, including text, images, and videos, can be time-consuming, but I was happy that I could deliver the assignment in 2 days     following the design process.

4. Though, I wish I had some more time so I could iterate more and improvise the visuals further.

I joined 10k Designers UI/UX Cohort by Abhinav Chikara in November 2022. And for our second assignment, I had to make a Landing for a creator/ Youtube channel. My goal with this assignment was to learn about Design principles and to learn more about visual design. So I decided to create landing page for Dice media, as it is one of my favourite Youtube channel

Designing website for&nbsp;Dice media&nbsp;which is a&nbsp;YouTube Channel —&nbsp;premium digital video division of Pocket Aces. they make web series and shows. I have been following their series since 2015 and a huge fan of all their shows so I decided to create landing page for them.

Pocket aces which is the parent company has it’s own website but that is for creators, Brands and for business. My goal with this landing page was to solve users problem and eventually bring more attraction on their videos and increase sales of their merchandise

I applied my learnings from 10k Designers to come up with a process to design a landing page to achieve the above-mentioned goals. I have summed my design process into the following :

I started my research by exploring other platforms to understand some common patterns which will help users to navigate on the website easily at the same time since the user group of dice media are younger audience I wanted to keep some fun interraction and style guide to cater younger audience.I also checked Pocket aces website, Dice media’s Instagram page etc to understand the brand language and design patternDoing this I realised since Pocket aces is the main company their current website focuses on Brand collaboration &amp; Influncer collab and it is not for it’s youtube audience.Then I researched about some merchandising websites as that is also one section I wanted to add in my website

Doing this helped me decide my goal from this website

After understanding the target audience and their needs and Frustrations, I used the&nbsp;MoSCoW method&nbsp;to prioritize the content of the landing page for&nbsp;both new and old audience of dice media

After gathering all the information from my research&nbsp;I started to roughly lay-out all the information that needed to be shown on the page. The idea was to lay out all the information clearly according to&nbsp;priority so that the target audience can understand.

During wire-framing, I attempt to give some visual structure to the information, so I tried a lot of different layouts for even similar screens to come up with the most suitable solutions.

After some basic idea I started working on the visual design and copy for the landing page. It is at this stage where I needed to decide on the color scheme and typography for the websiteI took some help from&nbsp;Chatgpt to help me write some catchy headline and&nbsp;and&nbsp;explored different font pairs that can give character to my landing page

As Dice media is a known brand and already has an established logo I didn’t wanted to change it’s brand color also since the website will have a lot of Images of web shows I decided to go with minimal colors so that it doesn’t look too heavy and cluttered.

I did some Iterations section vise before finalizing on my final website design with every iterations I could see the design getting better and also reaching close to the problem that I wanted to solve

Now let’s start with virtual tour of section-wise walkthrough of the landing page and my thought process behind the way I designed them.

Hero section is the&nbsp;most important section of landing page&nbsp;as it is the first thing&nbsp;user sees&nbsp;and based on that they&nbsp;form assumptions&nbsp;about the brand hence it is very important to design it in a way where the information is&nbsp;clearly delievered and it also needs to gain trust of the users.

This is the second most Important section of my landing page as it is designed to promote dice media’s web shows and solve problems of existing as well as new users I divided this in 4 sections to give users better clarity and help them make a decision of which show to watch

2. Segregating free to watch shows and featured shows- Having an option to browse free shows on YouTube provides a sense of trust to new audiences before subscribing. Users can view the number of views, video titles, and upload dates for each video, gaining valuable information about the channel. The section also includes a clear call-to-action (CTA) that encourages users to explore the channel and watch videos.

In the featured shows section, I enhanced the user experience by associating each&nbsp;card’s background color&nbsp;with its&nbsp;respective brand. This creates a sense of familiarity and strengthens the connection between the audience and the brands they love. Additionally, I introduced a new layout that allows users to browse&nbsp;shows based on the OTT&nbsp;platform they prefer, making it easier for them to find content aligned with their streaming service preferences.

3. Watch shows based on your mood- I’ve noticed a common issue while binge-watching various series and shows: some days, you’re in the mood for comedy, while on other days, you prefer more dramatic content. To address this, I’ve introduced a new section that caters to all genres. I’ve also added a touch of gamification, keeping in mind that Dice Media’s primary audience falls within the 18–30 age group who appreciate such engaging designs. Now, users can easily explore and enjoy their favorite genres with a touch of fun and variety.

This was the second problem that I wanted to solve as there is no specific platform as of now for dice media fans to buy merch I created a section to explore all the products that they have highlighting the best sellers.

To build trust with new audiences, I’ve added comments from Dice Media’s YouTube channel as social proof. These comments showcase the positive response of their content and help establish credibility among potential viewers.

Furthermore, I’ve highlighted Dice Media’s impressive YouTube statistics. This emphasizes their popularity and encourages new audiences to join the large and engaged subscriber community.

It shows all the creators that have featured in their videos. Since these creators have a very loyal fanbase, giving information about the creator like name, shows they have been part of and social media links.

Here I added a short brief about the company, Dice media logo, quick links for user to navigate and a subscribe button so they don’t miss on any updates.
